About the role

The SEO & SEM Officer is responsible for driving qualified organic and paid search traffic to the organisation's digital properties. This role owns keyword strategy, technical SEO health, and paid search campaign execution across Google Ads and other search-based platforms. The ideal candidate is data-driven, meticulous, and passionate about leveraging search as a primary channel for customer acquisition and brand discoverability in the education, technology, and EdTech space.

What you'll do

  1. Search Engine Optimisation (SEO)

    • Conduct ongoing keyword research, competitor gap analysis, and search intent mapping.

    • Develop and maintain an SEO content roadmap in collaboration with the Content Marketing Officer.

    • Perform on-page SEO audits and implement optimisations (meta tags, headings, URL structure, internal linking, image alt text).

    • Manage technical SEO: site speed, crawlability, indexation, structured data (schema), and Core Web Vitals.

    • Build and execute off-page SEO strategies including link-building and digital PR outreach.


  2. Search Engine Marketing (SEM) & Paid Search

    • Set up, manage, and optimise Google Search Ads, Google Display Ads, and Performance Max campaigns.

    • Conduct keyword bidding strategy, quality score optimisation, and ad copy A/B testing.

    • Manage SEM budget allocation to maximise CPL and ROAS targets set by the Campaign Strategist.

    • Monitor impression share, click-through rates, conversion rates, and cost metrics daily.


  3. Analytics & Reporting

    • Set up and maintain conversion tracking via Google Analytics 4, Google Tag Manager, and Ads Manager.

    • Produce weekly SEO/SEM performance reports: rankings, traffic, CTR, CPC, CPL, ROAS.

    • Identify traffic anomalies, algorithm update impacts, and recommend corrective actions.


  4. Landing Page Optimisation

    • Collaborate with the design and product team to optimise landing pages for Quality Score and conversion rate.

    • Run A/B tests on landing page copy, layout, and CTAs.


  5. Competitor & Market Intelligence

    • Monitor competitor search rankings, ad strategies, and keyword positions.

    • Identify new search opportunities and emerging keywords in the EdTech sector.

What we're looking for

  1. Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Information Technology, Communications, Business, or a related field.

  2. Preferably holds Google Ads certification (Search, Display, or Performance Max) and/or Google Analytics 4 certification.

  3. 2–4 years of hands-on experience in SEO and/or SEM roles.

  4. Proficiency in SEO tools: Google Search Console, Ahrefs, SEMrush, Moz, or equivalent.

  5. Hands-on experience with Google Ads Manager; familiarity with Microsoft Ads is a plus.

  6. Strong command of Google Analytics 4 and Google Tag Manager.

  7. Understanding of HTML/CSS basics and their impact on on-page SEO.

  8. Familiarity with technical SEO tools: Screaming Frog, PageSpeed Insights, or equivalent.

  9. Experience in the education, EdTech, or B2C digital industry is preferred.

What You Will Bring

  1. Strong analytical skills with the ability to derive actionable insights from search data.

  2. Detail-oriented, process-driven, and comfortable working with large keyword datasets.

  3. Good written communication skills in Bahasa Indonesia; English reading proficiency required for platform and tool usage.

  4. Curious and eager to stay up-to-date with search engine algorithm changes and emerging SEO/SEM best practices.

  5. Collaborative and able to work closely with content and design teams to align search strategy with creative output.
